How to Make Apple Fritters in an Air Fryer

Since getting an air fryer a couple years ago, I have had a blast adapting old favorites to this quick cooking method.
And apple fritters are one of the easiest things to make in your air fryer. Like most desserts made in air fryer, the consistency is more cake like than a traditional fried apple fritter. But that’s not an issue, the flavor is absolutely wonderful.
Prep time is quick and depending on the size of your air fryer, cook time is as little as ten minutes.
Other than your air fryer, all you need is a medium sized mixing bowl and non stick cooking spray or parchment paper to whip this recipe together.
Ingredients

You will be using common ingredients for both your fritters and your glaze. The maple glaze goes so well with these apple fritters but if you prefer a traditional glaze, that works well too.
When baking with apples you want to avoid soft varieties as they don’t hold up to the heat of your air fryer.
I’m frequently asked which apples are best for making apple fritters, and you can find my recommendations below.
- Honeycrisp
- Jonathan
- Cortland
- Braeburn
- Gala
- Fuji
- Honey Gold
- Pink Lady
- Winesap
- Granny Smith
The rest of your ingredients are kitchen staples, so you most likely have everything on hand already.
