I absolutely love cream pies and I make so many (especially around the holidays). And one of the best ways to take your pie to the next level is by making your own crust.

I have a number of homemade pie crust recipes I use throughout the year, but this is without a doubt my all-time favorite anytime I’m making a cream pie.

It’s got a great flaky texture and the coconut flavor pairs so amazingly well with most any type of pie.

This crust is sweet with the perfect amount of coconut flavor. It’s not like most other recipes you’ll find, so it never fails to get tons of complements from family and friends.

Prep time is pretty quick at less than ten minutes and bake time (if using for a no bake pie) is ten minutes. The only equipment you need is a mixing bowl and a hand mixer.

You can make this crust ahead of time and store in the freezer until needed, or you can use it immediately.

You only need three common ingredients to make this pie crust! That means this is a low cost and super easy recipe perfect for those last minutes holiday pies.

This recipe is for one 8″ or 9″ pie, but you can easily double or triple it if you need to make two or three pies.

Ingredients List

  • Butter
  • Dry Shredded Coconut
  • Powdered Sugar

Butter: I use salted butter for this crust, but if all you have is unsalted butter, simply throw in a pinch of salt. This helps heighten those wonderful flavors.

Shredded Coconut: I use unsweetened coconut for my crust. The powdered sugar provides, in my opinion, the perfect amount of sweet. But if you want an extra sweet pie crust, you can go with sweetened coconut.
