If you’re peanut butter is old, check my guide to see if it’s still good or not.
Cream Cheese: This provides flavor a stability to our pie filling. Go with regular fat, brick style cream cheese. Whipped will not produce the desired texture.
Cool Whip: Premade whipped topping tastes great and provides an airy texture to our filling. You can use name brand or store brand. You can even make your own whipped cream using heavy cream if your prefer.
Chocolate Ganache: While entirely optional, topping your peanut butter pie with homemade chocolate ganache is an absolutely amazing combination. Simply drizzle your ganache on top of your pie before or after chilling. Try my simple ganache recipe, it’s delicious.
Peanuts: I like to sprinkle whole peanuts on my pie for a great looking presentation. It’s completely optional, but looks great, especially when you top your pie with ganache.
