Tasty Dairy Free Sugar Cookies

Flavor packed and dairy free sugar cookies recipe! Super easy to make and perfect for cutting into fun shapes.

While a Christmas tradition, I like to make sugar cookies year round. They are so easy and I love that sweet buttery flavor!

My family likes sugar cookies but do not understand my obsession. I am fine with that, more cookies for me!

I think my love for these cookies go back to helping my aunt make her famous Christmas sugar cookies. She was an amazing baker! And I adapted her recipe for the folks who want a dairy free cookie that’s just as tasty as the original.

And if you want a cookie for making into fun or festive shapes, this is the recipe you’re looking for.

You can make sugar cookies without dairy!

As far as non dairy desserts go, this is one of my all time favorites. Let’s be honest, some dairy free cookie recipes just don’t taste like their dairy versions.

And while that’s just how it goes with some treats, you don’t have to compromise taste when it comes to your sugar cookies when forgoing the dairy.

Prep time is only about five minutes, then a quick chill and bake for about another ten. That’s all it takes, so you can have your cookie fix quick.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Cup Vegan Butter
  • Dash of Salt

To begin, add your granulated sugar and vegan butter to a mixing bowl and mix until creamy.

Add your vanilla extract and egg and mix well.

Gradually add your flour, baking soda, and salt and mix until completely combined. Your dough should now be smooth and creamy.

Flour your working area and flatten your dough into the shape of a disk. Wrap it in plastic wrap and chill it in the refrigerator for a half an hour.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Add your dough back to your floured working area and roll it out. Cut your dough into desired shapes and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.

Bake for 9-10 minutes. Remove and cool completely. Decorate as desired and then serve!
