This is my preferred method for reheating funnel cake. It works well and doesn’t take a ton of time. It is a great way to heat it up while maintaining as much flavor and texture as possible.

Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheating your oven to 350 degrees.

Once your oven reaches temperature place your funnel cake on your parchment paper lined cookie sheet.

Note: Space out your funnel cake to ensure even heating.

Bake them in the oven for 7-9 minutes. You’re funnel cake will be evenly heated and still crispy and oh so tasty.

You can add more toppings if some has melted away, but most of the time I don’t find that necessary.

Most of the time that an oven works heating something, so does a toaster oven. While not everyone has a toaster oven available, if you do it makes a great option for reheating funnel cake.

It’s especially convenient when your oven is being used for something baked at a different temperature.

Your funnel cake will come out crispy and flavorful as well!

How to reheat funnel cake in a toaster oven

Start by lining your toaster oven sheet with parchment paper and preheat it to 350 degrees.

Once your toaster oven has come to temperature place your funnel cake in a single layer on your parchment paper lined baking sheet.

Pop it in the toaster oven for 5-7 minutes. Be sure to watch your funnel cake closely as it is easy to over heat due to the heating elements being so close to your funnel cake.

Once you remove your funnel cake you cake add any desired toppings.

How to use an Air Fryer to reheat Funnel Cake

Ok, so I love my air fryer. It is so versatile and reheating funnel cake is a breeze in the air fryer. You can even made funnel cake from scratch in an air fryer (but that’s an article for another day).

The great thing about the air fryer is that you can cook just about anything, without using oil. I’ve also found it is great at producing that classic crispy funnel cake crust. On top of that, it’s ridiculously easy to do!

How to reheat funnel cake in an air fryer.

If your air fryer requires preheating, set it to 300 degrees.

To heat funnel cake in an air fryer you will have to cut it up into around 1″ x 1″ squares.

Next just pop your funnel cake cubes into the air fryer and heat for about 5-6 minutes.

Note: Be careful not to cut your funnel cake into too small of pieces. If anything go a little bit larger than one inch.

Reheating Funnel Cake on the Stove

If baking your funnel cake isn’t for you, heating on the stovetop is an excellent option!

It’s fairly quick and it produces an exceptional texture and tastes delicious. When heating funnel cake on the stove, be sure to closely follow the steps outlined below.

How to reheat funnel cake on the stovetop.

Add your favorite frying oil to your frying pan. Put enough oil to cover the bottom of your pan with one inch of oil. Heat up your oil until it crackles a bit.

Note: You can use any frying oil, such as butter, olive oil, peanut oil etc..

Next, cut your funnel cake into cubes at least one inch by one inch. Now add them to your frying oil.

Always be careful when frying to avoid splatter burns

Once you’ve added your funnel cake cover and fry the first side for 3-5 minutes. Flip your funnel cake and heat again for 3-5 minutes.

Your funnel cake will now be ready to be topped and served.

Can You Reheat Funnel Cake in the Microwave?

Yes you can but it’s not my recommended method. If you just don’t have enough time to use one of the heating methods above, the microwave can be used in a pinch.

Note: It is easy to overheat funnel cake in the microwave.

Also keep in mind that funnel cake reheated in the microwave will not be crispy. In fact, it will be quite soft and even mushy.

In a single layer, place funnel cake on a microwave safe dish. At 15 second increments, heat your funnel cake on high.

Check your funnel cake between each time you run your microwave for desired temperature.

Now your funnel cake is ready to top and serve.

Can You Fry Funnel Cake in Olive Oil?

Yes you can use olive oil to fry funnel cake. Olive oil does have a strong flavor which will be noticeable in your funnel cake. But if you enjoy the flavor of olive oil it is an excellent frying option.

Olive oil will add a bit of savory to the sweetness of your funnel cake.

The most commonly used oils for frying funnel cake are peanut oil, coconut oil, and bacon grease.

But you can use any of your favorite frying oils for funnel cake.
