No Yeast Baked Donuts With Chocolate Frosting
Soft and delicious no yeast donuts. Perfect for a sweet breakfast or snack.
- ¾ Cup All-Purpose Flour
- ¾ Cup Buttermilk
- 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp. Baking Powder
- ¼ tsp. Ground Cinnamon
- ¼ tsp. Ground Nutmeg
- 2 Large Eggs
- 2 Tbs. Unsalted Butter
- 1 tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 2 Cups Heavy Cream
- 2 Cups Semi-sweet Chocolate Chunks
Chop chocolate chunks and place in mixing bowl. Set aside.
Add heavy cream to saucepan and bring to boil. Immediately remove from heat and add to chocolate.
Let stand for two minutes.
Whisk by hand until creamy.
Chill in refrigerator until ready to use.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray donut pan.
Add all dry ingredients to mixing bowl and stir until combined.
Add all wet ingredients to separate mixing bowl and mix until completely blended.
Add wet ingredients to dry while stirring. Stir until completely combined.
Fill each compartment of donut pan with dough ¾ full.
Bake 12-16 minutes. Donuts are done when you can poke them and they spring back into shape.
Remove from pan and cool.
Spread each donut with frosting.
Serve and enjoy!
- These donuts can also be topped with spice, powdered sugar or a sugar glaze.
- I like to add sprinkles but they are optional
