  • Mixer
  • Donut Pan
  • Saucepan
  • Mixing Bowls

  • ¾ Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • ¾ Cup Buttermilk
  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • ¼ tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. Ground Nutmeg
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2 Tbs. Unsalted Butter
  • 1 tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp. Salt

Chocolate Frosting

  • 2 Cups Heavy Cream
  • 2 Cups Semi-sweet Chocolate Chunks

Chocolate Frosting

  • Chop chocolate chunks and place in mixing bowl. Set aside.
  • Add heavy cream to saucepan and bring to boil. Immediately remove from heat and add to chocolate.
  • Let stand for two minutes.
  • Whisk by hand until creamy.
  • Chill in refrigerator until ready to use.

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray donut pan.
  • Add all dry ingredients to mixing bowl and stir until combined.
  • Add all wet ingredients to separate mixing bowl and mix until completely blended.
  • Add wet ingredients to dry while stirring. Stir until completely combined.
  • Fill each compartment of donut pan with dough ¾ full.
  • Bake 12-16 minutes. Donuts are done when you can poke them and they spring back into shape.
  • Remove from pan and cool.
  • Spread each donut with frosting.
  • Serve and enjoy!

  • These donuts can also be topped with spice, powdered sugar or a sugar glaze.
  • I like to add sprinkles but they are optional
